1. What is records.georgebrown.ca?

The records.georgebrown.ca website is how students and alumni can request a credential replacement, copies of their transcripts, and a confirmation of enrolment.

As a student, you can view and order electronic and printed versions of your credential, transcript, and an electronic copy of your confirmation of enrolment letter. In addition, you can send transcripts to educational institutions and share online access to your documents with employers and other third parties.

2. What does it cost to order my documents?

  • Transcripts: $15.00 Canadian dollars
  • Credential Replacements: $50.00 Canadian dollars
  • Confirmation of Enrolment: $15.00 Canadian dollars

Taxes and shipping included for any destination. All mail is sent by Canada Post. Express shipping option is not currently available.

Requests for Foreign Nursing License are $85.00 total, consisting of $70.00 for the paperwork and $15.00 for the transcript. These types of requests should be submitted with the transcript request form available here: https://www.georgebrown.ca/registrars/forms/record_req/

We do not offer refunds on orders. All orders placed are final.

3. How long will it take to receive my documents? 

Processing times may increase during peak periods (January, May, June, and September).

In general, documents will be available online and processed for mailing as follows:

  • Transcripts: 2 - 3 business days
  • Credential replacements: 2 - 5 business days

Online only:

  • Confirmation of enrolments: 2 - 3 business days

Transcripts and credentials are mailed out via Canada Post. Canada Post standard delivery is as follows:

  • 2 business days for local mail (Greater Toronto Area)
  • 3 business days within the province (Ontario)
  • 4 days for national mail (Canada wide)
  • 5 - 15 business days for international mail

Confirmation of enrolments are available online through your account and will not be printed or mailed.

Foreign Nursing License requests are processed in 4-6 weeks.

4. Can I order additional copies of my credential?

No, students are only permitted to one credential per academic program. Credential orders are limited to a reprint only if the original has been lost/misplaced, damaged or other circumstances that need to be specified by the user.

5. Why is my account on hold?

Holds can include but are not limited to a financial hold. You will not have access to login to your account, order, view, or share documents if there is a hold on your account. Students are responsible for ensuring that their account is clear of any holds. Once the hold has been resolved, please wait 24 hours before logging in again to request your documents or contact records@georgebrown.ca.

6. Is it secure to share my electronic documents with other people?

Yes. We have taken extreme measures to prevent fraud and make it as safe as possible to share your documents. By revoking access when required and deciding who gets access to your documents, you have control over exactly who views your documents, which documents they see, when they see them and for how long. Although these electronic documents have been published by George Brown College, they are no longer valid when printed or removed from this website. If you require an official printed copy, you can make the request through the website.

7. What email should I use to create an account? 

It is recommended that you use a personal email account that you will continue to use after you have completed your studies at the college. If you decide to use your George Brown email account, note that you will lose access to this account 1 year after ceasing to be a George Brown student. Your George Brown email is not your student number.

. Why can't I register?

If you have registered already, you will not be able to register again with the same email address and/or student ID. In this case, visit the login page to try and login with existing details, or reset your password if you cannot remember it. Your username is your email address.

9. Why can't I log in?

If you are trying to log in and you:

  • attended prior to 1995
  • Require any supplemental forms be included with the transcript (for example, a Nursing License, World Education Services forms)

You should fill out and submit a transcript request form, available here: https://www.georgebrown.ca/registrars/forms/record_req/

All other students and alumni will need to create an account by clicking “Student & Alumni Registration”. Then follow these steps:

  1. Enter your personal email address and create a password.
  2. Enter your student ID, name, and birthday as it was when you attended George Brown.
    1. If you do not remember these details, enter any number between 4-9 digits, click submit, then click “forgotten my details”, then click submit again. This will be moved to us for review and approval, OR
    2. contact records@georgebrown.ca or call us at 416-415-2000. You will need to provide your full name as it was when you attended and your birthday. You may also be asked to answer security questions.
    3. If the website says the details are wrong, please edit them, or click “forgotten my details”, then click submit again. This will be moved to us for review and approval.
  3. Once your account has been approved your will receive an email to verify your account. This needs to be done within 24 hours.

This account is separate from your Stu-View and Blackboard accounts. 

If you are an existing user and cannot log in, please ensure your password and username are correct. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. If you need assistance with the password reset, please contact records@georgebrown.ca. Your username is the (operational) email address you registered with.

10. I am no longer a student/ how do I register for an account/I do not remember my student ID

If you are trying to log in and you:

11. Why is my account pending approval?

Your account is pending approval because the student number or information provided does not match our records. We will review your account and send you an email within 1-2 business days. For inquiries please contact records@georgebrown.ca.

If you attended George Brown College before 1995, you will not be able to access your documents online. You should submit a transcript request form, available here: https://www.georgebrown.ca/registrars/forms/record_req/

12. Why was my account denied?

Your account was denied because the student number or information provided does not match our records. If you believe this is an error, please contact records@georgebrown.ca.

You may have registered for an incorrect account, please contact records@georgebrown.ca.

If you attended George Brown College before 1995, you will not be able to access your documents online. You should submit a transcript request form, available here: https://www.georgebrown.ca/registrars/forms/record_req/

13. I cannot order my documents online.

If you are having trouble ordering your documents online, please contact the Records office to help troubleshoot the issue. You can email records@georgebrown.ca. Please include a description of the issue and screenshots if applicable.

If you are requesting documents and you:

  • attended prior to 1995
  • Require any supplemental forms be included with the transcript (for example, a Nursing License, World Education Services forms)

14. I have a Nursing License Request

These requests require a transcript, a record of program, and are often accompanied by documentation to be completed by the college.

Please submit a transcript request form, available here: https://www.georgebrown.ca/registrars/forms/record_req/ and attach a completed request for Academic Records from the licensing body.

A fee of $85.00 is required for these requests ($15.00 for the transcript & $70.00 for the Nursing License forms and program information). Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.

15. Why have I not received the verification email?

The verification email is sent to the email address you registered with. Please check your junk mail.  

The verification link is set to expire and should not be clicked more than once. If the link is clicked more than once, a new verification email with a new link will need to be sent. After verification, the link will become invalid and should not be clicked again.

It is also recommended to close all active sessions before clicking the verification link. You can also try a new browser.

16. Can I make changes to my order?

We do not offer refunds on orders. All orders placed are final. If an order has already been processed, meaning it has been published, printed and mailed, we cannot make changes to it. If you need to make a change after an order has been printed and mailed, you will be asked to pay for another order.

If you need to make changes to your order and it has not yet been published, you should contact records@georgebrown.ca as soon as possible and include your student ID and details.

17. What is the best browser to use?

The records request website operates the best with the latest version of Google Chrome.

18. My shopping cart does not reflect my in-progress order correctly

Please try the following options:

  • Use Google Chrome
  • Refresh the browser
  • Delete the browser cache memory
  • Close the browser window and re-open to try logging in again
